Eve Adamson |
In honor of her life and the care with which she supported our work, Phoenix Theatre Ensemble has established the Eve Adamson Theatre Legacy Fund to support the elements of production design— lights, sound, costumes, and sets—that Eve used so beautifully to create what Cocteau called, and Eve championed, "the poetry of theatre."
Eve's artistic aesthetic and integrity greatly influenced those of us who grew up in the house that Eve built, and her unique vision has become our artistic compass.
To launch this fund, the estate of Eve Adamson has graciously designated a portion of Eve's ceramic sculpture and vessels to be sold for the establishment and benefit of The Eve Adamson Theatre Legacy Fund. It is the wish of her estate and her theatre family that Eve's work and name live on.
Phoenix Theatre Ensemble is greatly honored to be beneficiaries and guardians of the Fund. We have promised to keep Eve's name and artistic vision alive and moving forward into the future.
The Eve Adamson Theatre Legacy Fund will support the perpetuation of design aesthetics, which exemplified Eve's work in the theatre.
In addition, in 2009, The Eve Adamson Theatre Legacy Fund began awarding the annual "Eve Adamson Excellence in Lighting Design Award" to a selected lighting design student. Eve was herself a noted lighting designer, and we feel she would be proud to grant such an award to this vital and often overlooked member of the artistic collaboration. The winner receives a cash prize of $1,000 and the opportunity to design a mainstage production for The Phoenix.
Congratulations to JAY RYAN, winner of the
